Domaining

Domain portfolio management for teams that buy and sell names

Domain portfolio management is the daily work of acquiring, valuing, holding and selling a set of names within a budget. Domaining gives a portfolio company or agency one shared workspace for it: the scored expiring list, backorder rules with their own budgets, roles for every buyer, portfolio reports, an API and escrow on every sale.

Budgets per rule, so acquisition cost is planned

Every automated rule has a maximum price per name and a minimum value score. On Portfolio and Enterprise each rule also has its own monthly budget. When the budget is used, the rule stops placing backorders, so one aggressive rule cannot spend the month.

RuleLimitsMonthly budget
Short brandable .comScore at least 75, price at most $69, length at most 8Set by the owner
Two-word .io for startupsScore at least 65, two dictionary wordsSet by the owner
Aged .net with historyAge at least 10 years, score at least 60Set by the owner

Your plan covers the service. When a backorder succeeds you pay the domain's registration fee, the price of the name itself.

Roles, seats and an audit trail

Portfolio includes 5 seats with three roles. Enterprise adds unlimited seats, granular roles, SSO (SAML), SCIM provisioning and an audit log of every backorder, bid, listing and price change.

Portfolio reports and API access

Portfolio-level reports show backorders by status, spend per rule, names won, names listed and sales closed through escrow. The API gives your own tools the expiring list, scores, appraisals, backorders and watchlists, with 50,000 requests per month on Portfolio and custom limits on Enterprise. Webhooks send status changes to your systems in real time.

  • Reports by rule, by buyer and by extension
  • CSV export of lists, appraisals and backorders
  • Webhooks for status changes and alerts
  • Bulk appraisal by CSV upload, 10,000 appraisals per month

Selling the portfolio, not only buying it

Names that sit unlisted earn nothing. List the whole portfolio on the domain marketplace, park every name on a for-sale page, let buyer matching route inbound requests to your listings, and use the 3 broker-managed outbound campaigns per month included in Portfolio for the names that deserve a direct approach.

Enterprise terms for large portfolios

Enterprise sets custom limits for backorders, rules, appraisals and API, adds a dedicated broker and acquisition desk and a custom SLA, and bills on annual terms with invoicing. We complete security reviews and sign a DPA.

Questions from portfolio teams

Can each buyer have their own rules?

Yes. Buyers create and edit rules within the budgets the owner sets. Every rule shows who created it and what it spent this month.

Can we move our existing portfolio into Domaining?

Yes. Upload your names by CSV to appraise them in bulk, add them to watchlists and list them on the marketplace.

How is Enterprise billed?

Enterprise is billed on annual terms with an invoice. Write to [email protected] with your seats and limits.
