Which filters narrow the list?

How do you buy expired domains?

You buy an expired name in one of three ways, depending on where it is in its lifecycle. Before the drop you place a backorder domain request and the name is attempted for you when it becomes available. When several members backorder the same name, it goes to a private member auction. After the drop, names that are still open can be registered normally, and names already held by investors are sold on the domain marketplace with escrow.

  • Before the drop: backorder the name or let an automated rule do it
  • At the drop: the name goes to the account of the member whose backorder succeeds, or to a member auction
  • After the drop: register it if it is open, or buy it from a seller through escrow

What do you pay for an expired domain?

Your plan covers the service. When a backorder succeeds you pay the domain's registration fee, the price of the name itself. When several members backorder the same name, it goes to a private auction between them and the winner pays the closing bid. No backorder result is guaranteed, and a backorder that does not succeed costs nothing beyond your plan.

How do you find recently expired domains worth owning?

Start from the value score, then check what the score cannot know: whether the name fits a real buyer, whether it has a clean history, and whether you would renew it next year. Save that search, turn it into backorder rules and let domain expiry alerts tell you when a watched name enters the drop cycle. For deeper checks on a single name, run a domain appraisal.

Are expired domains for sale the same as aged domains?

Not always. An expired name can be young or old. Aged domain names are names with years of registration history, and you find them by filtering the list by age. Age is one input, while the value score looks at the name itself.

How often is the expired domains list updated?

The list updates every day as names move through expiry, redemption and pending delete. Drop dates and statuses change on each update, and your saved searches and alerts follow the same data.

Can I export the list?

Yes. CSV export is included on Pro and Portfolio. Portfolio also includes API access with 50,000 requests per month for your own tools.

Is the value score an exact price?

No. The value score ranks names from 0 to 100 and the value band is an estimate. Final prices depend on buyers, so treat the band as a starting point for your own judgement.

Do I need an account to try the scanner?
