A domain appraisal is an estimate of what a domain name is worth, based on the qualities buyers pay for. Domaining gives every name a value score from 0 to 100, an estimated value range labelled estimate, and the drivers that moved the score, so you see why a name ranks where it does before you buy, renew or price it.
The score is built from the qualities below. Each driver adds to or takes from the score, and the appraisal shows the effect of every driver on the name you checked. The same scoring method scores every name in the expiring list, the estimator and your portfolio.

The value range is an estimate: a band where a name with this score and these drivers typically sits. It is not a price offer, a sale record or a promise of resale. Real sale prices depend on whether a buyer needs that exact name, so the band is a starting point for your own judgement, for setting a buy-now price on the domain marketplace, or for deciding whether a renewal is worth it.
Appraise a name before you backorder or bid on it. If the drivers show a long, hyphenated or hard to pronounce name, the score says so before you spend money. On the expired domain names list the score is already on every row, and backorder rules can use a minimum score as a condition.
